If you think about your schooldays – what do you remember most? If this, what you remember most are stories and pictures (inner pictures), then your inner self has decided the worth of StoryWay-Teaching.

Is it possible to transport all kinds of information per Story? I believe in these ideas, because they are more then techniques – Stories and inner pictures are the main way our brain store complex informations.

If you have a closer look to mnemotechniques and “modern” teaching techniques, you will find mostly Storytelling there.

The StoryWay-Method contains two dialectic ways:

• Analysis and  Synthesis
• Understanding and Change

Every lie has a partner – the person who wish to believe in lies. That’s the reason why stories are more then lies. Stories are deliberately told as something which truth is not in the told facts but in emotions, inner pictures or moralic ideas. (More about this topic you may find here (in german language).

Eine Story ist deshalb mehr als nur eine Lüge, weil sie absichtlich als etwas erzählt wird, bei dem der Wahrheitsgehalt nicht in der berichteten Tatsache, sondern im vermittelten Gefühl, inneren Bild oder der moralischen Grundaussage liegt.

It was Immanuel Kant who declared, we perceive only facts, events. Links between these facts are added by our brainwork. These links are STORIES, threads, links, connections between observations and individual peoples and their deeds. All we see is “this, here, now”. If – then – else is brainwork, science, engineering – stories.

Kant hat mal festgestellt, dass wir nur Ereignisse wahrnehmen können, die Zusammenhänge zwischen den Ereignissen jedoch über den Verstand herstellen – das sind die Stories – die Linien, Verbindungen zwischen den Ereignissen und Individuen!

It is always the same. If you think you have found a new idea – you are mostly wrong. My ideas about Story Ways has been found at least by Shawn Callahan also in 27/07/07:

“I’m thinking now we need to go one step further and look for ways for stories to create new conversations and new actions. It’s not simply telling stories and listening to stories but harnessing this narrative interaction to trigger new ways of thinking.”

New ways of thinking and new ways of working together – that’s the idea of Storytelling and Storylistening. Thank you, Shawn, i am on the right way because i agree with you.

(There are a lot of german publicists and professors they think they have had invented the ideas of Storytelling or Storylistening, but we know that this ideas are much older, as old as mankind.)

This is also the idea of the difference between CONFUZIUS and LAOZI. Confuzius thought about the right way and he found his right way (or propagated one – because it weren’t his origin ideas) he thought is the right one, but Laozi thought about the right energy to go your own way or tell your own story. Sources of this energy are (narrative) interactions. So Taoism (and its religious sibling ZEN) often tells irrational and open stories to teach new ways of thinking.

Is it really nessessary, to be the first with an idea? No, its like man with woman, you don’t have to be the first, but you have to be good!

• It is not all done if you had success, you have others tell about this success!
• Do you know what are the stories told about your company in your region?
• What are the stories and lore connected with your products?
• What are the corporate stories and lore told IN your company?
• What are the stories customers tell about you and your company?
• Who are the real heros of this stories?
• What is the way your employees speak about your enterprise? Do they tell loser- or winnerstories?

• Welche Geschichten kann ein Kunde über Sie verbreiten?
• Wer sind die wirklichen Helden dieser Geschichten?
• Wie erzählen Mitarbeiterinnen und Mitarbeiter über Ihr Unternehmen, haben Sie eine Erfolgs- oder eine Versagergeschichte?

The Way Stories to tell may influence the ways stories to life on. Listening to stories may help by understanding the mind of people as of enterprises.

Telling your own stories may help going your own ways.
